Like many communities in the Prescott area, Dewey-Humboldt can trace its history back centuries. Artifacts and ruins left by the Yavapai tribe speak volumes about who the area’s earliest settlers were and how they lived. Flash forward to the 1800s, and you’ll find glimpses of Dewey-Humboldt’s mining and gold rush history. Be sure to stop by the Dewey-Humboldt Museum to learn more about the local history!

Dewey-Humboldt’s proximity to the mountains makes for a quick trip to hiking spots, skiing destinations, scenic overlooks, and secluded campgrounds. Today, residents continue to enjoy Dewey-Humboldt’s peaceful setting and are active in preserving the town’s charm. In fact, the move to merge the communities of Dewey and Humboldt together in the early 2000s was inspired by longtime locals.
